I am an educated person (Civil Engineer) but have always watched people closely. Education level has nothing to do with Intelligence and Wisdom. Some of my greatest insights and learning have come from the uneducated but intelligent and wise of the world. I look at hands to see how a person has lived and the degree of experience they have.
This is , I feel, the best piece you've written- certainly the most impactful for me personally...i can't support you at the moment but I so appreciate your work and pray not only for it to continue, but thrive, and be seen by a huge audience
I was raised by a single mother in the 1960s and 1970s. When she showed up at a football boosters club the men didn't know how to react. Keep being you and let the small minds judge.
Bravo! When I was way young, I would go to the Santa Fe square with my nanna. Oh, she loved watching people! We were there for her chicken salad sandwiches for the most part, but the desert was an hour or so, watching people and she would say what she thought was going on with them. What they were saying and how they were acting....sort of 'what's up' with the people all around.
I think it was her version of story telling and also teaching me how to observe environments.
I learned very well and when I read you, I see you. You are brilliant and wise to catch the things you see for what really is 'up'. But you also have the mind for the dig. That is your 'gold'.
I imagine adventure to be exciting, exhilarating, existentially aware of itself, holding its own reins, taking control, on top of the situation, outside the boundaries, near the edge,
Precipitous, teetering, plunging, toward the instant, around the corner, over the rainbow
Awaken!
I am mired down, I imagine, in the day to day, strapped to the desk, pursuing the dream, chasing the bottom line, putting in the resume, applying for the position, taking what's mine, laying out the proposal, building the dream, walking the path, talking to prosperity
To Hand!
Wielding the sabre, cutting through the red tape, brushing off the chaff, zooming in to the essential, keeping your eye on the ball, knocking it out of the park, nearing the zenith, taking the prize, chesting the tape, making the podium, wearing the crown.
Victorious!
Winning the instant, wearing the now, alone in the moment, alive on the tightrope, drifting toward tomorrow, floundering in rough seas, adrift in an endless ocean, bearing the brunt, taking it square on the jaw, feeling the weight, letting it fly, hanging it out
There!
Right on the tip of the tongue, almost there, nearly had it, close, but no cigar, déjà vu, I can almost see it's face, visiting with ghosts, having a tea with the mad hatter, down the rabbit hole, taking the mad aunt for a walk, visiting the asylum, airing it out in the light.
Facing It.
The self dresses itself momentarily . Losing yourself in the mirror. Trying to catch yourself in the moment. Looking for Budha. Introspection. Reflection. Meditation.
Some of the most intelligent people I’ve ever known never went to college. The world thinks otherwise. They are wrong way more than right.
What a powerful piece of writing! Honesty, strength, resilience and becoming. Thank you!

I admire you and your stamina.
Ada,
