The Mail-In Ballot Grift: Part 2
Ada Nestor | Reflections from the Edge
Trump’s Clarity vs. Presler’s Spin
On August 30, 2025, Donald J. Trump spelled it out in plain English:
“Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!! Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military. USE PAPER BALLOTS ONLY!!!”
The very same day, Scott Presler was online telling Republicans the exact opposite:
“Republicans, if you do not embrace early voting & mail-in voting … you will lose NJ, PA, & VA.”
Let that sink in. The leader of the movement says ban mail-in voting. Presler says embrace it or lose. Both statements were made within hours of each other.
This Isn’t New
This battle didn’t start last week. In fact, I’ve already shown how the media and the GOP machine have been gaslighting the base about Trump and mail-in ballots for years. Remember the so-called “fact-checks” claiming Trump actually supported mail-ins?
I dismantled that lie here:
👉 The Laughable Lie That Trump Supported Mail-Ins
Then, in Part 1, I showed how mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania weren’t just ineffective, they were a cash machine for consultants and operatives. The establishment was willing to lose elections if it meant keeping that money pipeline flowing. For them, that tradeoff was worth it.
👉 The Mail-In Ballot Grift: Money Over Victory
Now, in Part 2, the split-screen couldn’t be clearer. Trump says mail-in ballots will be banned. Presler says Republicans must embrace them. The PA GOP continues to push counties in the wrong direction.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
Let’s go back to Pennsylvania in 2024.
Trump same-day votes: 2,850,716
Harris same-day votes: 2,119,033
Margin: +731,683
Harris mail ballots: 1,263,611
Trump mail ballots: 664,982
Margin: –598,629
Trump’s win came from in-person voters. Mail-in ballots were not a strength. They were a deficit.
The Party Is Misinformed
Here’s the problem. Too many within the Republican Party believe the myth that “we need mail-in ballots to win.” Some even argue the Party should pressure Trump to change course and adopt Presler’s line.
They are grossly mistaken. The numbers prove it. Harris owned mail-in ballots in 2024. Trump survived them only by dominating Election Day turnout.
Mail ballots didn’t help him. They hurt him.
So when party insiders push this talking point, they are either uninformed or deliberately misleading. And every time they repeat it, they move us closer to normalizing the very system Trump has promised to end.
The GOP Machine Keeps the Grift Alive
It isn’t just Presler. The Pennsylvania GOP and county-level operatives continue to act like mail-in ballots are the future, despite Trump making clear they will be ended. They keep building the infrastructure, expanding drop boxes, consolidating precincts, and funneling energy into the very system that undermines in-person elections.
This isn’t strategy. It’s complicity.
What This Really Means
You cannot say you want mail-in ballots gone while telling your own voters to rely on them. That’s doublespeak. That’s how you normalize the system until in-person voting is an afterthought.
Trump is clear. He is pledging to eliminate mail-in ballots. Meanwhile, Presler and the PA GOP are working overtime to entrench them. Ask yourself: who benefits from that contradiction?
The Warning
In Part 1, I showed you the numbers. In Part 2, we have Trump himself drawing the battle lines. And yet, the grift rolls on.
The stakes are obvious: the more the GOP embraces the mail-in system, the faster in-person voting disappears. And once it’s gone, it’s not coming back.
This isn’t just about money anymore. It’s about capture.
The enemy is inside the gates.
