Dave McCormick Is Proving the Skeptics Right
When the Pennsylvania GOP moved to endorse Dave McCormick right after the 2023 municipal elections, the message was clear: the establishment had made its pick, and they weren’t waiting around for grassroots input. For many of us, the alarm bells started ringing immediately.
McCormick wasn’t some hometown conservative stepping up to serve. He was the former CEO of Bridgewater Associates—one of the largest hedge funds in the world—with deep, well-documented ties to the World Economic Forum. These aren’t just optics problems. They’re signals about whose interests a politician is likely to prioritize once elected.
Throughout his campaign, McCormick was repackaged and rebranded as a “Pennsylvania First” candidate. But for those of us paying attention, that label never fit. In fact, I called it out publicly back in September and October of 2023, warning that this was a top-down move by the political class to install one of their own under the guise of populist appeal.
Now, less than a year into his Senate term, McCormick is proving the skeptics like me right just in time for the 2025 primaries.
He’s aligned himself with legislation that favors multinational interests, not Pennsylvania workers. He’s echoing the language of corporate globalism while actively supporting policies that undermine American manufacturing and domestic industry. And rather than fight for the people who believed he might be different, he’s reinforcing the very structures that got us into this mess in the first place.
This isn’t a case of "he changed once he got to Washington." This is who he was all along. The signs were there. The warnings were loud. The GOP ignored them.
Pennsylvania deserves better than a senator who answers to Davos. We deserve someone who understands our struggles, not someone who’s spent their career making money off of them.
The Pennsylvania GOP took a calculated risk. They ignored the base, shut out alternatives, and anointed McCormick before the primaries even had a chance to get off of the ground. Now they own what comes next.
But here’s the good news: it’s not too late for Pennsylvania.
The grassroots has time to mobilize. The primaries are coming. And if we’ve learned anything, it’s that top-down candidates only succeed when we stay silent. This time, we won’t.
It's time to defeat the state GOP establishment picks—before they defeat what’s left of the conservative movement.
